Groups from different sectors joined millions of Filipino Catholics in Rizal Park today to take part in an outdoor mass to be celebrated by Pope Francis this afternoon, as well as to deliver messages of justice and peace.

The groups, some coming from as far as the Southern Tagalog region, carried placards and streamers bearing calls for land reform, labor rights, women’s rights, and the release of political prisoners.

An estimated six million people will participate in the mass, despite the heavy rain.
