In time for the New People’s Army’s (NPA) 47th anniversary, revolutionary groups and activists paid final tribute to Gregorio “Ka Roger” Rosal, the Communist Party of the Philippines’ (CPP) former spokesperson, as his remains were finally brought to Metro Manila almost five years after his death. His ashes was marched from Cubao, Quezon City to UP Diliman where a tribute was held. More than a thousand attended the said tribute.

More tributes will be held in Southern Tagalog before Ka Roger’s ashes will be brought to his final resting place in his hometown in Ibaan, Batangas on Thursday.

For several years before his death in 2011, Ka Roger has been the voice and the face of the revolutionary movement in the Philippines.
