The Stop K-12 Alliance with some students of Balara High School protested against the implementation of the K-12 program on July 23. A student member of Kabataan Partylist and a parent from Gabriela Partylist shared how the added two years in basic education adds burden to their financial crisis and to the educational system in general.
Patricia Palaña, a Grade 8 student of Krus na Ligas High School spoke before the students about the lack of basic needs of students in her school. According to her, three students share one textbook and there were many times when her classmates don’t have chairs to sit on in their classroom.
The Stop K-12 Alliance also invited the students and teachers to join the people’s SONA on July 27, Monday.
